CRN: 52014
Dr. Jean-Marc Oppenheim
Wednesdays, 7-8:40pm

Course Description: The goal of this course is to teach Middle East history to teachers of social studies so that they can teach it to secondary school students. We will attempt to cover, in a general chronological fashion but with emphasis on topical concepts, approximately fifteen centuries in about fifteen weeks. The course begins with Arabia and its neighbors on the eve of Islam and concludes with the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq and its impact on the region.

These courses are open to Masters and Doctoral students across the college.
