Course description: The Ming Voyages, Tokugawa Japan and the rise of an urban society, the Manchus and the Qing dynasty, Choson Korea, and East Asia in early modern times are the topics of this course. Primary source reading selections and on-line units are the basis for assignments and discussion.

This course is open to Masters and Doctoral students across the College.
